Local Craft Beer
Asheville is known for its vibrant craft beer scene with numerous breweries offering a diverse range of beers. Some of our favorite craft breweries include Burial Beer Co., Asheville Brewing Company, and the Wicked Weed Funkatorium.
The area south of downtown Asheville is slowly becoming a hub of craft breweries, restaurants, and shops known as the South Slope Brewing District.
the Blue Ridge Parkway
If you’re driving or renting a car for the weekend, the Blue Ridge Parkway is the perfect way to get in your mountain views. Known as “America’s Favorite Drive,” the Blue Ridge Parkway runs north and south from Asheville with plenty of long-range mountain views, spots for roadside picnics, breathtaking vistas, easy to difficult hiking trails, and a reprieve from commercialism.
Outdoor Activities
The breathtaking scenery of the Blue Ridge Mountains surrounds Asheville in all directions, with one million acres of protected forest and parkland - the perfect opportunity to spend an extra day exploring the great outdoors.
From hiking, fishing, and kayaking to ziplining, rafting, and paddleboarding, the Western NC mountains has something for everyone.
